Doctors Fields

Renovation & Extension of 1960s Semi-Detached Property
January 2023 – July 2023

The Doctors Fields project involved the complete renovation, reconfiguration and extension of an existing 1960s semi-detached property, transforming it from a dated three-bedroom home into a spacious, modern five-bedroom family property designed for contemporary living.

Prior to the works, the property had a traditional layout with limited internal space, smaller rooms and reduced natural light. The original footprint measured approximately 900 sq ft, which no longer suited the needs of a modern family home. Through the construction of a double-storey side extension and a double-storey rear extension, the property was increased to approximately 1,700 sq ft, almost doubling the usable living space and significantly improving the overall layout, flow and functionality of the home.

The project included a full strip-out of the existing internal areas, allowing the property to be taken back and rebuilt to a much higher standard. Extensive structural alterations were carried out to open up the ground floor and create a more practical arrangement of living spaces. The completed layout now includes five bedrooms, a high-specification kitchen/diner, a family bathroom, en-suite facilities and improved open-plan areas that provide a brighter, more connected space for everyday family life.

A key part of the project was ensuring the new extensions integrated seamlessly with the original structure. Careful attention was given to the external appearance, rooflines, brickwork, openings and finishing details so that the completed property felt cohesive rather than simply extended. Internally, the design focused on creating a clean, modern finish while making the best use of the increased footprint.

As part of the renovation, the property benefited from a full electrical rewire, upgraded plumbing systems, new heating provision, improved insulation and enhanced thermal performance throughout. These upgrades helped bring the home in line with current expectations for comfort, efficiency and long-term usability.

The works also allowed for major improvements to the overall quality and feel of the property, including new internal finishes, modern fixtures and fittings, upgraded bathrooms, improved lighting, and a more practical layout suited to busy family living. Every stage of the project was carefully managed to ensure the original building was strengthened, modernised and adapted while maintaining a high standard of workmanship throughout.

The completed Doctors Fields project delivered a fully modernised, energy-efficient and substantially enlarged family home. By maximising the available space, improving the performance of the building and upgrading the property to meet current standards, CS Complete Building Services created a home that offers long-term comfort, practicality and value.

Construction of New 4-Bed Detached Property
June 2025 – December 2025

The Melton Street project involved the full construction of a new four-bedroom detached property, delivered following the demolition of the existing garages and the successful granting of full planning permission.

The development was carefully designed to make effective use of the available site, creating a high-quality modern family home that sits comfortably within the surrounding street scene. From the initial stages, careful consideration was given to the layout, scale, external appearance and overall functionality of the property to ensure the completed home offered both strong kerb appeal and practical everyday living.

Following site clearance and preparation, the works progressed through new foundations, structural construction, roofing and the full external envelope. Each stage was carefully coordinated to meet the approved drawings, structural requirements and current building regulations, with attention to detail maintained throughout the build.

Internally, the property was completed to provide a spacious and well-balanced layout, including four well-proportioned bedrooms, modern bathroom facilities and a generous open-plan kitchen, dining and living area. The layout was designed to maximise natural light, improve flow between spaces and create a comfortable environment suited to contemporary family living.

The project included the full installation of new electrical, plumbing and heating systems, insulation, internal partitions, plastering, joinery, flooring, decoration and high-quality fixtures and fittings. Solar panels were also fitted to improve energy efficiency and support the long-term running performance of the home, adding a sustainable feature to the completed property.

Externally, the property was finished with a resin driveway to the front, creating a durable, low-maintenance and visually clean entrance that enhances the overall kerb appeal. To the rear, a patio area was created to provide a practical outdoor living space for seating, entertaining and family use.

The completed Melton Street project delivered a high-quality, energy-efficient new build home constructed to modern standards. By maximising the potential of the site and managing the project through to completion, CS Complete Building Services successfully delivered a durable, practical and attractive family home with long-term value for its occupants.

Project Overview – DfE Cladding Installation, Ashington

February 2025 – September 2025

CS Complete Building Services delivered specialist façade and cladding works on a major Department for Education project in Ashington, Northumberland.

The project involved the installation of a high-quality external façade package, combining Stofix brick slip cladding with Swisspearl fibre-cement panels. These systems were selected for their durability, low-maintenance performance, clean architectural appearance and suitability for modern educational environments.

Our works formed part of a wider construction programme focused on delivering a safe, robust and visually considered building for long-term public sector use. The façade package required careful planning, accurate setting out and close coordination with other trades to ensure the installation was completed efficiently, safely and in line with the project specification.

This scheme followed our involvement on previous Department for Education projects, including St Joseph’s and Michael Syddall. Through these projects, we have continued to strengthen our experience in education-sector cladding installations, working to strict compliance requirements, programme deadlines and high standards of workmanship.

We worked alongside Bowmer & Kirkland and Innovaré, supporting the delivery of a large-scale education project through reliable, programme-focused façade works. This relationship reflects the trust built through consistent performance, clear communication and a commitment to quality across every stage of the cladding package.

The completed Ashington project demonstrates our capability in specialist cladding systems and our ability to support high-profile public sector developments. With a focus on precision, safety and long-term performance, CS Complete Building Services delivered façade works that combine technical quality with a professional finish.

Rear Extension to Detached Bungalow
August 2024 – September 2024

The Bowling Green project involved the construction of a rear extension to an existing detached bungalow, creating approximately 250 sq ft of additional modern living space.

The purpose of the extension was to improve the layout, increase natural light and provide a more open and practical connection between the home and garden. The new space was designed to complement the existing property while giving the rear elevation a cleaner, more contemporary appearance.

The works included the construction of a gable-end extension, carefully formed to maximise internal height, light and visual impact. Sleek aluminium bi-fold doors were installed to open the living space directly onto the garden, creating a strong indoor-outdoor connection and making the new area ideal for everyday living, entertaining and family use.

Externally, careful attention was given to the brickwork and detailing to ensure the extension integrated smoothly with the original bungalow. Dental course brickwork was incorporated and matched with the existing property, helping the new addition feel considered, balanced and in keeping with the home’s character.

Internally, the extension was completed to a high standard with smooth plastering, decorating, joinery and new flooring throughout. Structural alterations were carried out to create a more open-plan layout, improving the flow of the property and making better use of the available space.

The project also included an updated electrical layout, with energy-efficient lighting and thoughtfully positioned sockets to suit the new living area. These finishing details helped create a bright, practical and modern space ready for everyday use.

The completed Bowling Green project delivered a well-designed rear extension that enhances both the appearance and functionality of the bungalow. By adding valuable living space, improving the connection to the garden and upgrading the overall feel of the home, the project has created a long-lasting improvement with clear day-to-day benefits for the client.

Luxurious Rear Extension – Design to Delivery
August 2025 – November 2025

The Ashby Road project involved the design and construction of a high-quality rear extension to an existing detached property, creating a bright, spacious and contemporary living area tailored to modern family life.

CS Complete Building Services supported the project from the early design stages through to final completion. This included the preparation of permitted development drawings, structural calculations and a detailed project brief, allowing the works to progress with a clear design direction and coordinated construction plan.

The new extension was designed to transform the rear of the property, improving the connection between the internal living space and the garden. A key feature of the project was the installation of an impressive 5-metre-wide set of aluminium bi-fold doors, creating uninterrupted views, maximising natural light and providing a seamless indoor-outdoor flow.

To further enhance the sense of space, a vaulted ceiling was formed within the extension, adding height, character and a strong architectural feature to the room. This detail helped create a more open and luxurious feel, turning the new living area into a standout part of the home.

Externally, the project included the construction of a rear retaining wall to support and define the garden levels, creating a more practical and usable outdoor area. A porcelain patio was also installed to provide a premium, low-maintenance finish that complements the extension and creates a clean transition between the home and garden.

The extension was finished with a VPI render system, giving the rear elevation a crisp, modern appearance while adding durability and long-term weather protection to the external finish. This helped create a cohesive and contemporary look across the completed works.

The construction works were completed to modern performance standards and included the full rear extension build, structural works, insulation, roofing, glazing, rendering and internal finishes. The internal fit-out included plastering, electrical works, heating installation, joinery and decorating, ensuring the new space was completed to a high-quality finish throughout.

The completed Ashby Road project delivered a stylish and practical extension that significantly improved the functionality, appearance and value of the property. From concept and technical design through to construction, external landscaping and final handover, CS Complete Building Services provided a complete design-to-delivery service, resulting in a modern living space built with care, precision and attention to detail.

Elmsthorpe Lane

Full Property Refurbishment – Elmsthorpe Lane
December 2025 – April 2026

The Elmsthorpe Lane project involved the complete refurbishment and modernisation of an existing residential property, transforming it into a highly finished home with the appearance, comfort and performance of a new build.

The works were extensive, with the property upgraded throughout both internally and externally. Every area was carefully stripped back, improved and brought up to a modern standard, allowing the home to be fully renewed rather than simply refreshed.

Internally, the project included a full refurbishment of the electrical and plumbing systems, ensuring the property was modernised behind the scenes as well as visually. New plastering was completed throughout the home, followed by full decoration to create a clean, consistent and contemporary finish across all rooms.

A key feature of the project was the installation of a new kitchen, which now forms a standout open-plan living space. This area was designed to improve the flow of the ground floor and create a practical, sociable space for cooking, dining and everyday family living.

Both bathrooms were fully refurbished as part of the works, including tiling, bathroom suites, fittings and final finishing details. These spaces were completed to a modern standard, contributing to the overall quality and comfort of the home.

Flooring was completed throughout the ground floor to create a consistent finish across the main living areas, while new carpets were fitted upstairs to the bedrooms and landing areas. New internal doors, skirting boards and architraves were also installed throughout, giving the property a sharp, complete and well-finished interior.

Externally, the property underwent a significant transformation with the application of a full house render. This gave the home a clean, modern appearance, improving kerb appeal and refreshing the overall look of the property. To the rear, a resin patio was installed to create a smart, durable and low-maintenance outdoor space.

A major achievement of the project was the improvement in the property’s energy performance. Through the upgrades completed as part of the refurbishment, the home’s EPC rating was raised from an F to just one mark below a B. This demonstrates the level of improvement made to the property’s efficiency, comfort and long-term running performance.

The completed Elmsthorpe Lane project delivered a full internal and external transformation. By upgrading the services, finishes, kitchen, bathrooms, flooring, joinery, render, rear patio and overall energy performance, CS Complete Building Services created a modern, practical and highly finished home with the quality, comfort and appearance of a new build.
